For those looking to make their apartment or home beautiful while remaining ecologically conscious, one State College-based interior designer launched the only certified vegan interior design company in the State College area.
Lauren Fay Interiorsâ mission is to be âethical, cruelty-free and sustainable,â according to founder Lauren Godfrey.
Originally from Miami, Godfrey began working in Student Technology Resources for Penn State in 2013. In October 2019, after taking classes in design for three years, Godfrey decided to found her own interior design company.
She was partially inspired to pursue sustainable interior design after living in Austria for a while.
âTheir whole culture is living outdoors,â Godfrey said. âThey have an amazing recycling program, and people think about how to treat the outdoors well.â
Every summer since I was in middle school, I remember coming up to Penn State for the Central Pennsylvania Festival of Arts â looking at art, feeling the summer heat and an overall feeling of belonging at Penn State long before coming to this school.
Because the annual Arts Fest was canceled last year and recently was canceled this year, too, I have not gotten the chance to experience it for a couple of years now. I miss seeing the art and the whole experience.
That prompted me to search for some places that have art to view or purchase around the area and online.
