Woman who allowed her home to be used to store drugs has her children placed into care

A woman who allowed her home to be used to store drugs has had her children taken away from her and placed into care since her arrest, a court has heard.
Veronica O Connor (41) was not present in her home when it was raided by gardaí, although two individuals who did not live in the house were present along with her two children.
O Connor of Bunratty Road, Coolock, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to permitting the sale of controlled drugs from her address on February 22, 2017. She has two previous convictions for road traffic offences.
A woman who launched a âfrightening, vicious and unprovokedâ attack on a fellow attendee of a Westlife concert 18 months ago has avoided a jail term.
Jackie Walsh (26) split the victimâs ear lobe during the attack after her earring got caught up when Walsh was pulling fistfuls of the womanâs hair.
The victim said she could feel blood pouring down her face and could see clumps of her hair all over her shorts during the assault.
The victim, who did not make a victim impact statement because she is currently going through a severe bout of depression, was treated by a doctor at the concert.

Jackie Walsh, 26, split the victim s ear lobe during the attack after her earring got caught up when Ms Walsh was pulling fistfuls of the woman s hair. The victim said during the assault she could feel blood pouring down her face and could see clumps of her hair all over her shorts.
The victim, who did not make a victim impact statement because she is currently going through a severe bout of depression, was treated by a doctor at the concert.

Edmond Dunican (47) pulled out a realistic gun and revealed an apparent home-made explosive device around his neck, subjecting his estranged wife, a barrister and a judge to a frightening ordeal.
At Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, Judge Patricia Ryan sentenced him to eight years, with two years suspended, backdated to the day of the crime, December 20, 2018.
She said it had been a “planned and premeditated offence.”
