With spring cleaning in full swing, local police agencies and a nonprofit are accepting donations of used bikes to be refurbished and given to children across Columbus.
For the second year, Starfish Assignment is partnering with law enforcement agencies across central Ohio for the project.
In 2020, bikes were given primarily to children on Columbus West Side. This year, the program is hoping to collect 400 bikes to distribute at recreation centers in Linden, the East Side and the West Side.
Starfish is working with Columbus police, Dublin police, Ohio State University police and officers from John Glenn Columbus International Airport.
Dublin police will be hosting a bicycle donation drive from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Dublin Justice Center, located at 6565 Commerce Parkway. There will be a drive-thru area where donations can be made from vehicles.
