Second man charged following death of one of a kind Clydebank man Billy McGuire
Police confirmed a 25-year-old has been arrested in connection with the death of Billy McGuire in December.

The accused is due to appear in court this month A MAN accused of assaulting three police officers at a house in Faifley is due to appear in court next month. James Lang, 27, is alleged to have attacked three police constables at an address in Watchmeal Crescent on September 22. Prosecutors claim that he grabbed one of the officers on the body, pushed him to the ground, sat on top of him and headbutted him, leaving the officer severely injured. It’s also alleged that Mr Lang – who did not appear when his case called at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on December 22 – pushed a female officer against a wall and tried to bite her on the body during the same incident.
Billy McGuire died in hospital after he was found seriously injured in an address on Perth Crescent. Police were called in the early hours of Monday, December 21, where Billy, 25, and another man, 34, were rushed to hospital. Cops have now revealed a 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged over the alleged murder of Billy. Detective chief inspector Alan McAlpine, of the Major Investigation Teams, said: “Our enquiries continue and I want to thank the community for their assistance so far. We continue to support Billy s family and urge anyone who has information which can help, and has not yet been in touch, to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
