The 29-year-old victim was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley and treated for a number of stab wounds to the arms and chest. Nathan Reid, 18, was charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of life when he appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday. He did not enter a plea and was committed for further examination and released on bail.

Dumbarton Sheriff Court TWO men have appeared in court charged in connection with an alleged cannabis cultivation in Haldane. Chi Ron Li, 20, and Nghia Vu, 46, appeared in private at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on May 5 charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act with production of drugs. The men, who had no fixed abode, made no plea or declaration and were committed for further examination. They were remanded in custody and will appear in court again within eight days. A total of 297 cannabis plants worth £178,000 were reportedly found at a property in Shandon Crescent, on Monday.
