Labor dispute strike nurses St Vincent Hospital Tenet Healthcare Worcester bargaining negotiations

WORCESTER  St. Vincent Hospital will present another offer to striking nurses at a bargaining session set for Saturday afternoon. A federal mediator requested that the Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA) return to the table to try to reach an agreement with Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, which owns the facility. While the MNA has agreed to meet with Tenet 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the union did not formally respond to the hospital s last offer after a short bargaining session late Monday afternoon, except to say in interviews afterward that the offer was insulting. The MNA also did not offer a counterproposal the hospital’s last offer.

Share this article Share this article WORCESTER, Mass., April 27, 2021 /PRNewswire/  The nurses of St. Vincent Hospital and Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare held the first round of negotiations since the nurses launched their strike on March 8 for a new contract that the nurses believe must include needed staffing improvements to ensure safer care for all the patients at the facility to end the strike.  Unfortunately, Tenet came to the table without addressing the nurses call for safer staffing standards that the nurses had raised prior to the strike, and which had been communicated to the mediator on Friday when the negotiations were scheduled.
