Tyson Foods Inc. has granted $54,250 to the Food Bank of Iowa in order to support hunger relief in the Perry area, the company announced Thursday. The Tyson Fresh Meats plant in Perry will also begin coordinating the mobile food pantry events every other month at the Dallas County Hospital.

A Perry man was arrested Friday night shortly after allegedly beating another man in the 800 block of William Street in Perry.

The incident began about 9:15 p.m. in the 800 block of William Street in Perry, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance.

No injuries were reported in the mishap.
Officers of the Perry Police Department are investigating the crash, which occurred about 2:45 a.m. just east of 12th Street on the state highway.
One of the passenger cars came to rest in the roadway and pointing northward in the westbound lanes of Iowa Highway 141, and one car came to rest pointing eastward on the south shoulder of the roadway.
