DALLAS COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) - The Dallas County Sheriffâs Office is trying to identify a man wanted in an armed robbery investigation.
Investigators say patrol units responded to a panic alarm at a convenience store in the 44800 block of U.S. Highway 80 East shortly before 8:30 a.m. Saturday,
CrimeStoppers reports state that a man entered the store with what theyâre calling a âmilitary style rifleâ and demanded money from the clerks. Investigators say he took money from two registers then ordered the clerks to go to the bathroom and ran away.
“He’s got two broken legs and his internal organs are a mess. He’s got brain swelling so they had to drill a hole in his skull so that wouldn’t kill him,” Mallicoat said. “He’s in a lot of pain. But he’s one hell of a trooper.”
The Iowa State Patrol said in a news release that Hardisty was driving north on J Avenue, also known as County Road P58, when Wink crossed over into the northbound lane and hit her car head-on. Impairment is believed to have played a part in the crash, the release said.

When rescue crews arrived, they found Hardisty dead at the scene. A 7-year-old child inside Hardisty’s vehicle was transported to Blank Children’s Hospital for serious injuries. (Dallas County, IA) The Dallas County Sheriff s Office says a rural Minburn woman is dead after a head-on crash last (Tuesday) near Perry.
The Sheriff s Office says 39-year-old Danyel Hardisty was killed, and a young child in her vehicle was taken to Blank Children s Hospital in Des Moines with serious injuries. The other driver, 53-year-old Steven Wink of Council Bluffs suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
The Sheriff s Office says the crash happened after 9:30 p.m. in the 15000 block of J Avenue, near Highway 141, just south of Perry. Authorities say they do not believe weather was a factor, the investigation continues.
