Severe weather is affecting more than 100 million Americans tonight and snow is still falling in the hardest-hit areas in Texas. While power has been restored to millions in Texas, nearly half of residents, 13 million, don t have access to clean, running water.
In the city of Kyle, officials said water should only be used to sustain life at this point.
In Houston, America s fourth-largest city, there are long lines for food, gas and supplies. Things are also bad in Oklahoma, where President Biden declared a state of emergency after the longest stretch of sub-zero temperatures there on record. At least 34 deaths were attributed to the storm, 20 of them were from Texas.

As noted by the Associated Press (h/t ESPN), the Dallas Stars and NHL received criticism after the decision was made to postpone Monday s game versus the Nashville Predators only one hour before puck drop due to extreme and dangerous winter weather conditions.
That won t be a concern on Tuesday. After further discussions with Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson s office, tonight s game between the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center is also being postponed due to the continued power outages in the Dallas area caused by severe weather, the Stars explained in the prepared statement. A make-up date will be announced as soon as it can be confirmed.

The Detroit Pistons just weren t meant to face NBA opponents from Texas this midweek.
On Tuesday, the NBA confirmed that Wednesday s Pistons-Mavericks game has been postponed due to the winter storm that left tens of thousands of residents in the Dallas area without power as temperatures fell to minus-1 degrees.
Tuesday s scheduled showdown between the Pistons and San Antonio Spurs was scrapped due to COVID-19 issues impacting the Spurs. Since that time, ESPN s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that four San Antonio players recently tested positive for the coronavirus. As a result, the club s next three games have been postponed.
