TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Hwy 171 Friday around 10 p.m.
Police say the male victim was shot in the neck, airlifted to UAB, and is currently in stable condition.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was called to investigate the case. They discovered the victim was shot by a woman who he had been in a past relationship with.
Warrants were obtained on 50-year-old Deborah Watkins for attempted murder with a $60,000 bond, according to police.

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - A 6-month-old baby found unresponsive Monday, December 28 died Wednesday morning.
Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s investigators said the child, 6-month-old Jordyn Taylor, was in critical condition when she was taken to Children’s Hospital after her caretaker, 30-year-old Tiffany Marsha Washington, called authorities.
Washington is charged with Murder in Jordynn’s death and Aggravated Child Abuse.
The baby girl was found in a home in the 3000 block of 35th Avenue at approximately 2:30 p.m. on December 28. Investigators said Washington told them she found the child unresponsive and began performing CPR.

$5,000 reward offered in random I-59/20 shooting that paralyzed Georgia husband and father

A reward has been posted in the October shooting on Interstate 59/20 that left a Georgia man paralyzed.
Gov. Kay Ivey announced the $5,000 reward on Tuesday. The shooting happened Oct. 9 when Curtis Henchel, his wife and their two young children were traveling through Alabama from Georgia to visit family in Texas.
It was about 10:42 p.m. when the family, traveling in their Yukon, were fired on randomly as they passed through Tuscaloosa County at about the 96-mile marker. An unknown vehicle pulled alongside the SUV and fired multiple rounds.
