Husband intentionally hit pregnant wife with vehicle in Tuscaloosa, police say

A Tuscaloosa County man is behind bars after authorities say he intentionally struck his pregnant wife with a vehicle Monday morning.
Tuscaloosa police were dispatched at 8:10 a.m. to the intersection of 15th Street and Interstate 359. Witnesses told police they saw the woman exit a Kia and run before the driver made a U-turn and struck her.
The 23-year-old woman was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center. Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Marty Sellers said her injuries are not life-threatening. He said no information was available on the status of the unborn baby.
Devonte Lavon Farmer, 20, is charged with three counts of attempted murder in Monday’s shooting at The Links at Tuscaloosa Apartments on Links Boulevard. Farmer, said Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy, has no criminal record in Alabama but is currently wanted for assault with a deadly weapon in Mississippi.
No one was injured when gunfire broke out near an apartment complex in central Tuscaloosa late Monday night, a police spokeswoman said Tuesday morning.
Stephanie Taylor, the Tuscaloosa Police Department s public information officer, said TPD responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 18th and 19th street around 11 p.m. Monday Night.
Several residents in the area called 911 to report the gunfire and when investigators arrived they found a home on 18th Street behind Central High School had been struck multiple times.
No other damage was reported, and no one was injured. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is conducting a follow-up investigation.
Police Identify and Formally Charge Links Shooting Suspect
The man accused of shooting a Tuscaloosa Police officer in the chest Monday afternoon has been identified and formally charged with three counts of attempted murder.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said 19-year-old Devonte Lavon Farmer is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon in Noxubee County, Mississippi and may have been involved in other shootings in several other jurisdictions in the Magnolia State.
Investigators now believe Farmer is the man who fired shots at three Tuscaloosa Police officers at the Links apartment complex and golf course in southern Tuscaloosa Monday afternoon.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Hwy 171 Friday around 10 p.m.
Police say the male victim was shot in the neck, airlifted to UAB, and is currently in stable condition.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was called to investigate the case. They discovered the victim was shot by a woman who he had been in a past relationship with.
Warrants were obtained on 50-year-old Deborah Watkins for attempted murder with a $60,000 bond, according to police.
