Witnesses said the tragic incident happened around 1:00pm when the deceased, Parveen Begum, 48, and her daughter Suraiya Akhter were crossing the road to catch a Munshiganj-bound bus to return home.

Deceased Parveen Begum (48) arrived in Dhaka from Munshiganj for her daughter s treatment. The tragic incident happened around 1:00pm when Parveen and her daughter Suraiya Akhter were crossing the road to catch a Munshiganj-bound bus to return home.

Explosion at Feni building; 3 of a family injured

The explosion damaged the third, fourth and sixth floors of the building, they said. The injured were rushed to 250-bed General Hospital from where two Meherun Nesa (40) and her daughter Hafsa Islam (15) were sent to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Locals said the mother and her two daughters are living in the rented flat and all the male members of the family are expatriates. Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the 250-bed hospital Md Iqbal Hossain Bhuiyan told the correspondent that the two who were sent to Dhaka suffered 60 percent burns. The younger daughter of Meherun Nesa was released after giving primary treatment, the RMO said.
