Filming has begun in Sydney on Season 2 of comedy series
Frayed, written by and starring UK-based Australian Sarah Kendall.
Joining the casts this season are Hamish Michael (
Rosehaven, Janet King), Jane Hall (
Wentworth, Neighbours) and rising talent Emma Harvie (
The Letdown, Diary of an Uber Driver) as Emily.
Creator, writer and star Sarah Kendall says “I’m so excited to be home making season 2 of
Frayed. The last year has been pretty grim, so we’re all really grateful for this opportunity to bring back a lot of these frankly appalling characters.”
Sarah Kendall s 1980s comedy to return to Sky
Filming has begun on the second series of Sarah Kendall’s Sky comedy series Frayed.
The cast, including Diane Morgan, have started shooting six new episodes in Sydney, which are due to air later this year.
Kendall said she was ‘so excited’ to be back on set, adding: ‘We’re all really grateful for this opportunity to bring back a lot of these frankly appalling characters.’
Morgan previously tweeted an image from her quarantine hotel where she was forced to spend two weeks in isolation before filming began to ensure she was not bringing Covid-19 into the country.
EXCLUSIVE: ABC’s slate is always bursting at the seams with drama, comedy, entertainment documentary, kids and news -so big, it can’t all be accommodated here. But ABC Director Entertainment & Specialist Michael Carrington tells TV Tonight about some of the surprises in store this year.
New comedy
Aftertaste, with Erik Thomson as an angry chef returning home to Adelaide, premieres tonight. The series is produced by Closer Productions (
The Hunting) with Michael Carrington noting Thomson’s abrasive character will face redemption.
“We’re very excited about it. It’s a terrific comedy, starring Erik Thompson and Natalie Abbott. Her character is charming, and gives the emotional, humorous connection, that hopefully softens him as the series progresses,” he says.
