Even through the challenges of the pandemic, the Danville-Pittsylvania Habitat for Humanity is moving forward into 2021, focused on moving forward with their goal of creating a community of housing for Danville and Pittsylvania County residents.
In 2019, the organization announced their plans for the Habitat Village, a 30-home community located near Springfield Road and Seminole Drive on land donated by St. Lukeâs United Methodist Church.
The project would involve two phases, with eight houses being the first, and the construction of a new road and the rest of the houses in the second. The village would also feature a shared space, such as a community garden or park, for residents to enjoy.
