Louise Hanson, a retired librarian and researcher who has more than 500 Kansas cookbooks in her collection, will present a free virtual program, Tasting the Past: Exploring Kansas Food Memories, via Zoom at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Hanson s presentation will explore the diverse ethnic food traditions in Kansas, as expressed in community cookbooks over the years.
Hanson is part of Humanities Kansas s Movement of Ideas Speakers Bureau, which offers presentations and workshops designed to share stories that inspire, inform, spark conversations and generate insights that strengthen civic engagement.
