Police charge man with drug offences – Oxley Police District
A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in the state’s north-west.
In April 2020, officers from Oxley Police District’s Proactive Crime Team (PCT), established Strike Force Catkin to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Werris Creek and Tamworth area.
About 9.20am today (Thursday 7 January 2021), strike force officers arrested a 31-year-old man at a home on Henry Street, Werris Creek.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, supply cannabis, deal with property proceeds of crime and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.

Unlicensed driver charged after theft of car and pursuit at Werris Creek
A man has been charged following the alleged theft of a vehicle and pursuit in the state’s north-east today.
Shortly after 5am today (Tuesday 29 December 2020), officers attached to Oxley Police District received a report that a red Holden Cruze was allegedly stolen from a home on Lenord Street, Werris Creek.
About 6am, Oxley Proactive Crime Team were patrolling the township of Werris Creek where they located the vehicle in Poole Street.
A pursuit was initiated and terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.
Two people will front Tamworth Local Court today after police seized drugs, a weapon and stolen goods.
Strike Force Kunderbung was established in October to investigate an organised drug supply network operating between Tamworth and the Central Coast.
A 38-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested at the home in West Tamworth and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
The man was charged with supply prohibited drug (between indictable and commercial quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime intent to conceal, deal with property proceeds of crime, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and two counts possess prohibited drug.
The woman, was charged with three counts possess prohibited drug, three counts goods suspected stolen in/on premises, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and drive vehicle illicit drug in blood etc.
