The murder of a man working his overnight job at a convenience store has devastated his family. They are making a personal plea for information to help the police.
ARLINGTON, Texas - The family of a North Texas store clerk killed by an armed robber said he was excited to welcome a newborn niece this week. The man who murdered him has not yet been found.
The family of 31-year-old Jordan Hightower is trying to cope with the devastating loss. He was a son, a husband, a brother and was looking forward to being an uncle for the eighth time.

Police are searching for a suspect and offering a $5,000 reward after a convenience store clerk was found fatally shot Sunday morning in Arlington.
Jordan Hightower, 30, was found shot dead behind a store counter, police said. Police responded shortly before 5 a.m. to the incident at the E-Z Mart store on the 100 block of East Bardin Road after a customer had gone into the store and found the clerk unresponsive.
The man fled on foot eastbound on Bardin, police said.
Police described the suspect as a black man with a slim build and long hair wearing a red baseball cap and jacket and a dark colored shirt.

No calls had made or alarms sounded from the store before the customer who found the man walked in, police said.

Arlington police and the victim’s family are searching for answers after a customer discovered a convenience store clerk fatally shot early Sunday.
The customer called police about 5 a.m. to the E-Z Mart store in the 100 block of East Bardin Road, near Matlock Road. Police found the the clerk on the floor behind the counter.
