Haltom City police are investigating the death of a man whose body was retrieved from a creek, officials said. Officers responded to an area east of Dogleg and Fairway Circles 11:30 a.m. Tuesday after they received a call about a possible dead body in Big Fossil Creek. First responders retrieved the body of a man from the creek, police said. The victim’s identity and cause of death have yet to be determined by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, police said.

The man driving the car was hit by at least one bullet, police said. The passenger in the car, police said, was able to move the driver to the passenger seat and drive the car to a home on the 600 block of Cousins Lane, about a block from the convenience store. The victim, whose name has not yet been released and is known only as a 21-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The man s identity will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner s Office once his family has been identified.
