NORWAY A 33-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after a hostage situation in Norway.
Police were called to the 600 block of 15th Avenue just after 10 p.m. on a report of a domestic violence incident, according to a news release from the Norway Police Department.
The man reportedly was armed with two knives and threatening a woman he had taken hostage, the release stated.
Officers attempted to negotiate with the man after gaining entry to the residence, but the man refused to negotiate or comply with commands, according to the release.
The Critical Incident Response Team arrived and also attempted to negotiate with the man, finally subduing him with non-lethal shotgun rounds after he refused, the release stated.

LAKE PARK, Iowa - Police are still investigating a murder in northwest Iowa after the victim s rent car was involved in a police chase and crash.
A 23-year-old faces felony charges after fleeing from police while driving a car rented by Angel Bastman, who was found dead in her home four days earlier.
Officers have not yet connected the driver to Bastman s murder, and are asking anyone with information to contact Lake Park Police.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is now involved in the case.
Twenty-five-year-old Bastman was found dead inside her Lake Park home on December 22nd.
