PRINCETON, N.J., April 14, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Learning Ally has announced the winners of the 2021 Great Reading Games, a national event designed to encourage students particularly struggling readers to read and build habits that will help them succeed in life.

LRSD board to consider mask mandate, creation of virtual school
The
Little Rock School District Board will hold a meeting at 5:30 p.m. today to set the agenda for its April 22 meeting, but it will also take votes on two items: extending the mask mandate and creating a permanent virtual school within the district.
The administration recommends the continuation of its universal mask requirement in all LRSD buildings. I think it’s safe to say the board will concur and masks will continue to be required through the end of the school year.
Parents need to call the school at this time and set up a registration time.

A lottery has already been held for kindergarten students wishing to get into the Two-Way Immersion program at Bijou Elementary and at the Lake Tahoe Environmental Science Magnet School.
To be eligible for Kindergarten enrollment a child must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2021. If the child turns five years of age between September 1, 2021 and December 2, 2021, they qualify for Transitional Kindergarten (TK); a two-year Kindergarten program located at Tahoe Valley Elementary School.

Seventh and eighth grade students recently moved from the North Heights Junior High campus into the new Arkansas Middle School. Sixth grade students will start the 2021-2022 school year on the Arkansas Middle School campus. “We are proud to provide these additional learning opportunities for students during the next year,” commented Superintendent Dr. Becky Kesler. “Our goal is to help each student reach his or her full potential, and I believe the opening of two new K-5 elementary schools and the K-12 digital learning school will aid in our ability to meet that objective as well as provide parents with additional options for their students.”
