IAM opens search for 2021’s inductees into the IP Hall of Fame – IAM has announced that the annual search to identify outstanding individuals to induct into the IP Hall of Fame is underway. Established in 2006, the IP Hall of Fame honours individuals – living or dead – who have had a major and positive impact on the IP landscape, whether as a corporate executive, dealmaker, lawyer, academic, policy maker, administrator, or in any other capacity.

Due to the migration and integration plan of the Korean
Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the access to electronic
priority documents through the bilateral agreement between KIPO and
the CNIPA will be shut down from January 1, 2021.
In order to continue the services, the CNIPA and the KIPO have
through consensus decided to switch the electronic retrieval for
priority documents to WIPO Digital Access Service (DAS) platform.
As of January 1, applicants shall perform the deposit and inquiry
procedures via DAS.

The Japanese Design Law has stood at a tipping point ever since
the law was first enacted 130 years ago. On April 1, 2020,
revisions to the Japanese Design Law came into effect and the scope
of protection expanded to graphic interface images (GUIs), exterior
and interior designs of buildings. Furthermore, the revised law has
