AUSTIN, Texas One person is dead after a shooting in North Austin on Friday night.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. at 1126 Mearns Meadow Blvd., near Quail Creek Neighborhood Park.
The Austin Police Department said officers arrived on the scene and found a man shot while seated in a vehicle. Austin-Travis County EMS arrived and began life-saving measures.
The man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:23 p.m. He was identified on Feb. 4 as Jose Franklin Rodriguez.

(New Braunfels) The four members of a family, who died recently in a house fire, have been identified. The Travis County Medical Examiner’s Officer released the names the victims this week. They are identified as 44-year old Jose Selvera, 18-year old Julissa Selvera, 16-year old Abigail Soto and eight-year old Allen Selvera.
The family died in the fire that started just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, January 12 at the family’s home, located in the 300 block of Leisure Village Drive.
Guadalupe County Fire Marshal Patrick Pinder says the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Pinder says their was one person, who was able to escape the flames. According to Pinder’s original report, the home was fully engulfed in flames, when firefighters arrived on scene.

A hostage standoff at a medical office in Texas has resulted in the deaths of two pediatricians, the Austin Police Department said in a news release.
According to the news release, a 911 caller reported that an armed man, identified as Dr. Bharat Narumanchi, entered the office of the Children s Medical Group around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, and was holding hostages inside.
The officers learned that there were several hostages at the medical office before they got there, and all, except 43-year-old pediatrician Dr. Katherine Lindley Dodson, were released.

A 43-year-old Indian-American pediatrician diagnosed with terminal cancer shot dead a lady doctor and then killed himself after taking hostages at a medical office in Austin, according to police in the capital city of the US state of Texas. The armed man has been identified as Dr Bharat Narumanchi.
