Friends honor the life of Eugene teen found dead in Texas
His friends told KEZI 9 News that Strimple used to frequently skateboard at the park and was known for being a nice guy.

EUGENE, Ore. - Friends of 18-year-old Silas Strimple created a makeshift memorial at Washington Jefferson Park in Eugene.
They told KEZI 9 News that Strimple used to frequently skateboard at the park and was known for being a nice guy.
Strimple s name was spray painted at the park and a picture of his student ID from Monroe High School could be seen there too.

Gibson, Maldonado, Callahan elected to Elgin City Council
Three seats were up for grabs in the Elgin City Council with Arthur Gibson III, Skyler Maldonado and Matthew Callahan winning those elections, according to the unofficial results Saturday night.
In the race for one of the Ward 1 positions, Arthur Gibson III defeated Sarah Gudenkauf. Gibson received 66 votes compared to Gudenkauf s 47.
Gibson, a third-generation resident of Ward 1, unsuccessfully ran for election to a Ward 1 seat in November against Elgin Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Bega.

AUSTIN, Texas - A body was found In Lake Travis after crews spent the weekend searching for a missing swimmer. A body was found in the area of Devil s Cove where the man was reportedly seen, said Kristen Dark with the Travis County Sheriff s Office.
According to TCSO, the swimmer was reported missing on April 17. This week an autopsy is being done to see if the body they found this weekend matches that the missing swimmer as well as the cause of death.

A man locked himself in a car after what police say may have been a domestic dispute.
The Austin Police Department says officers surrounded the car as the man yelled at them. After driving a short distance, police say the man crashed into a ditch.
He still refused to get out and started revving his engine so much so that officers say the car caught on fire.
He eventually got out of the car and started walking away. That’s when the Travis County Sheriff’s Office deployed its K9 officer.
It’s clear from the video that the dog bit the man several times before officers detained him.
