Former Sheriff s Detective Arrested In Texas Shooting That Left Three Dead

He was armed with a pistol on his waistband, but he didn t resist, Manor Police Chief  Ryan Phipps told  NBC News. He was fully compliant with our officers commands. Broderick, who was a former detective with the Travis County Sheriff s Office, is accused of fatally shooting two women and one man in what officials said was an isolated domestic incident. Authorities said that a child was also involved but has been located and is safe.

Austin Shooting Suspect Caught; Two Victims Identified   AUSTIN, TX – Two high school students were killed during a domestic violence shooting Sunday night in Austin.  A third victim has not been identified. According to the Austin Police Department, on Apr. 18, officers with the Austin Police Department were dispatched to the Great Hills Trail and Rain Creek Parkway at the Arboretum Oaks Apartments for the report of a shooting.  When the officers arrived they discovered three victims that had been shot and killed.  The suspect, Stephen Broderick, 41, was nowhere to be found but after hours of searching they found him walking with a pistol Old Kimbro Road near U.S. 290 just outside Manor. He was arrested without incident.

Authorities in Austin, Texas have arrested the former law enforcement officer who is suspected of committing a triple homicide on Sunday near Great Hills Trail and Rain Creek Parkway. This arrest followed a wide-scale manhunt that lasted nearly a full day. KXAN reported that the Travis County Sheriff’s Office and Manor Police Department confirmed that Stephen Nicholas Broderick, 41, was taken into custody without incident between 7 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. on Monday. Broderick, a former Travis County sheriff’s deputy, had a loaded handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants at the time of the arrest, Manor Police said.
