When Terry Matthews’ Wesley Clover Foundation took over the operations of the National Capital Equestrian Park seven years ago, one of its central objectives was to elevate the level of equestrian sports in the capital region.
The foundation invested $12 million through its principal project, Wesley Clover Parks, to bring the massive property up to international standards. All that was needed was a flagship event to announce the venue was ready for prime time. Now it’s got one.
