BBAHC expands eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to everyone 18 and older

Dillingham held its first vaccine clinic Jan. 14, 2021. Credit Izzy Ross/KDLG On Thursday, the Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation expanded eligibility to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to everyone 18 years of age or older.   In Dillingham, people can receive the vaccine at a clinic Saturday at the Dillingham High School gym.      People 65 and older can receive vaccinations beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Beginning at 11 a.m., those who fall into the high risk category can receive the vaccine. Being high-risk may include diabetes, chronic lung disease, and compromised immune systems as well as pregnancy.  Those who take the medications Enbrel, Humira, Stelara, or Methotrexate also qualify as high risk.

Dillingham Community Choir streams first concert on Facebook December 24th, 2020 |   There hasn t been much live music in Dillingham this year. But the Dillingham Community Choir decided to change that. The choir performed its first concert last Thursday evening. It featured five pieces, which can be streamed on the group s Facebook page. The songs included Once in Royal David s City; Of the Father s Love Begotten; Lo! How a Rose ere Blooming! We Three Kings; and Here We Come A-Caroling. The choir began weekly rehearsals in early November at the local Moravian Church. Brandon Smith, the music director for the Dillingham Middle/High School, conducts the rehearsals.
