Walt Disney World Easing Covid Guidelines
BURBANK (dpa-AFX) - Walt Disney World, the Orlando, Florida-based entertainment complex, is easing the health safety guidelines that were rolled out to prevent the spread of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The complex is ending temperature checks in a phased manner following the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local health officials.
The onsite temperature screenings at Walt Disney World Resort will be phased out for cast members or employees on May 8 and for guests on May 16. However, temperature screenings will be required for entry to some locations.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek hinted that there could be a change to the mandatory mask requirement at Disney parks.
“Particularly, if anybody’s been in Florida in the middle of summer with a mask on. That could be quite daunting,” Chapek said. “So we think that’s going to make for an even more pleasant experience.”
The parks had already started raising the number of people allowed in Florida, based on relaxed restrictions from Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“So I think you’re going to see an immediate increase in the number of folks that we re able to admit into our parks through our reservation systems that we recently implemented,” Chapek said.
