Carl Jones, of Ffordd Pennant, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Friday. The 42-year-old admitted that on January 14 he drove a Ford Mondeo on the A548 in Mostyn after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his blood exceeded the prescribed limit. He was found to have 254 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood - the limit being 80. Deanne McGinty, prosecuting, said Jones had been driving towards Prestatyn when he lost control of his vehicle. It left the road and travelled across the verge, entering a ditch alongside the A548. Jones, a team leader at a logistics company, was then seen walking around, appearing intoxicated, on the unlit carriageway.
