Photo from the Dekker Centre livestream The Battlefords Kiwanis Music Festival went ahead under unusual circumstances this year, with COVID-19 pandemic restrictions altering many aspects of the festival this year.
Patrons will be able to either watch the concert at home via live streaming, or attend at the drive-thru in the CUplex parking lot. The lot opens at 5:30 p.m. and is general admission, first come first served. The cost of the show is pay what you will. Capitol Theatre will be on-site selling fresh popcorn from vehicle-to-vehicle, and Beaver Grill will be open for those looking for a meal before the show. If there is inclement weather the show will move to live stream only. Drive-in tickets are non-refundable, but can be exchanged for gift certificates if you do not wish to watch online.
City of North Battleford Mayor David Gillan received the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts, on Wednesday, April 21. The vaccine clinic is being run by the Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs Inc. (BATC) in association with Indigenous Services Canada and the Saskatchewan Health Authority. “Stick it to COVID” proclaimed Mayor Gillan as he received his vaccine. “As soon as you are eligible for the vaccine, I encourage everyone to book their appointment and get the first available vaccine,” added the Mayor.
