Council Selects Engineer, Plans To Seek Grant The Hillsboro City Council met in a special session at noon Tuesday, March 30, and moved forward with the process of seeking state grant funds for water and street improvements by selecting a project engineer. The council awarded the contract to Walker Partners of Waco after reviewing five submissions from interested engineering firms. The action will allow the city, with grant administrator Traylor and Associates, to move forward with the Texas Community Development Block Grant application and seek up to $350,000 in funding for water, wastewater and street improvements. With the help of the engineer and grant administrator, the city will also identify specific improvements that it would like to make with any funds that are received.
