MSU Texas to host 3 more COVID vaccine clinics in May Staff reports MSU Texas is teaming with the Texas Department of Emergency Management and the Texas Military Department to have three more COVID-19 vaccine clinics in May. The clinics will be each Thursday in May from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sikes Lake Center, across from MSU campus off Midwestern Parkway. The clinics will have same-day registration and are on a first-come, first served basis. People will be asked to show identification such as a driver’s license or state-issued ID. Texas Military Department members will be administering the vaccines at these events.

Texas businesses or civic organizations can call 844-90-TEXAS and select Option 3 to schedule a visit from a state mobile vaccine team to vaccinate employees, visitors, or members. To qualify for a visit, a business or civic organization must have 10 or more employees, visitors, or members who voluntarily choose to be vaccinated.

Central Texas is far from herd immunity for COVID-19, and public health officials are urging everyone who can to get vaccinated. Most sites are now giving away first doses without an appointment, though some are offering reserved appointments as well. Here s where you can go this weekend to get a shot. Delco Activity Center Austin Public Health is running its vaccination site at the Delco Activity Center on Saturday. As of this week, it s now a walk-up site, so anyone 18 or older looking to get a dose of the Moderna vaccine can do so between noon and 8 p.m. If you can t make it this weekend, the site is open from Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 8 p.m.
