Two dead after crash on SH 16

Special to the Weatherford Democrat Jan 25, 2021 Jan 25, 2021 Two people were killed and another transported to the hospital after a wreck Sunday morning west of Graford. On Jan. 24, 2021 at approximately 11:25 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a two vehicle fatality crash on State Highway 16 approximately 10 miles west of Graford, DPS Sgt. Richard Hunter said. Preliminary investigation indicates a 2006 Toyota Corolla was traveling south on SH 16 and for an undetermined reason, the Toyota left the west side of the road, he said. The driver, Edward P. Worth, 49, overcorrected causing the Toyota to skid sideways into the northbound lane of travel. The Toyota was then struck by a northbound 2007 Chevrolet pickup.

Multi-state police chase ends with man behind bars     HARRISON COUNTY, Texas (KTBS) A man who led Harrison County deputies on a multi-state chase that shutdown Interstate 20 early Monday is behind bars. Deputies received a call around 11:55 p.m. Sunday on reports of Caddo Parish deputies were chasing Wesley Pearson, 35, of Shreveport, for a stolen vehicle on I-20 when he crossed into Texas. Harrison County Deputies, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers quickly responded to the area of I-20, and attempted to locate the stolen vehicle. Texas troopers were able to deploy spikes on the interstate, which brought the vehicle to a stop near Exit 603.

Two arrested after high-speed chase

Updated at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 A high-speed chase across three counties Monday, Jan. 11, ended with the arrest of two suspects by Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Investigators, joined by other area law enforcement. The suspects, Javier Delarosa, 18, and Arnulfo Baesa, 17, of Dallas, are in the custody of the Henderson County Jail facing multiple charges. Delarosa is charges with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group one, more than four grams, less than 200 grams, evading arrest and tampering with evidence. His bonds total $1 million. Baesa is also charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group one, more than four grams, less than 200 grams, and tampering with evidence, as well as possession of a controlled substance, penalty group one, less than one gram, and possession of marijuana, less than two ounces. His bonds total $555,000.

2 Dallas men arrested after chase spanning multiple counties

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, 18-year-old Javier Delaros and 17-year-old Arnulfo Baesa, both of Dallas face charges of manufacturing and delivery of a substantial amount of meth and tampering with evidence. The chase began in Athens and ran through Kaufman and Van Zandt Counties with speeds exceeding 115 miles per hour and were seen throwing drugs out of the vehicle’s windows.
