After speaking with the community at length and having thoroughly researched Angelo State University’s vast improvement after joining the Texas Tech University System, moving Sul Ross State University is the right decision for the institution, the students and faculty, and both Alpine and West Texas as a whole, Gutierrez said.

LUBBOCK, Texas â January 27, 2021 â Anyone with a dog knows what happens when the animal gets wet: the big shake that throws water all over everyone and everything nearby. But what happens if the dog is covered in something more hazardous than water?
It also gets thrown all over everyone and everything nearby.
Two years ago, Brett Huff, an animal decontamination specialist, was looking for a better solution than the diluted-dish-soap-and-water method he was using to clean animals. It was messy, distressing to the animals â even in warm weather, let alone the freezing temperatures of winter â and, when it was all over, he had a huge amount of contaminated water to dispose of, which had to be done safely.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Now that the state legislature is back in session, the Texas Tech University System is working to ensure its top priorities are met in Austin.
In 2019, both the veterinary school up in Amarillo and the dental school in El Paso were given the green light with state funding.
But this year Chancellor Tedd Mitchell says they are âplaying defenseâ on the legislative floor.
âWe want to make sure that they understand that weâre being good stewards of the peopleâs money, and not by coming down there and asking for heaven and earth when weâre sending in our budget,â Dr. Mitchell said.
Texas Tech Chancellor Tedd Mitchell shares an update on the health of the system, priorities in the Texas Legislature, and expectations regarding coronavirus.
