Man with four drunk driving convictions arrested again
A Monroe man who had four prior convictions for driving while intoxicated was arrested by Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies after he was stopped for a traffic violation in Detroit Beach Wednesday night.
The man, 54, was driving a blue 1993 Chevrolet pickup when a patrolling deputy saw him pass over a solid double yellow line twice on N. Dixie Hwy. before Monrona Dr. about 10 p.m. in Frenchtown Township, a deputy’s report said. The deputy activated his patrol lights and attempted to stop him at the intersection with Grand Blvd., but the suspect continued to drive until he pulled into a private driveway in the subdivision where he lived, the report said.
