TWRA Begins 4-Year Wild Turkey Banding Project Monday, March 8, 2021
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Wildlife and Forestry Division is launching a four-year, large-scale turkey banding project across the state to look at factors affecting gobbler harvest rates.
Officials said, Eastern wild turkey populations throughout much of the southeastern United States have declined over the past decade or more, including in parts of Tennessee. Of the possible causes of these declines, only impacts associated with harvest are directly influenced by state wildlife agencies responsible for management of the wild turkey resource. To make wise management decisions, the TWRA requires good science to understand the relationships between hunting regulations, harvest, and resultant population impacts. Criminal justice faculty to discuss school security practices and violence

Sharon, Pa. On Feb. 11, Assistant Professor Travis Milburn will host the final discussion in Penn State Shenango’s 2020-21 Lecture Series. The lecture, “Bulletproofing our schools: Exploring the connection between school security products, race, class, and school violence,” will be held on Zoom and is open to the community.
The discussion will explore the connection between school security practices and criminal justice, including the occurrence of crime in schools. Viewers will be challenged to think about social spaces even beyond educational settings they occupy, the ways these spaces are shaped, and why it matters.
TSSAA Announces New Look For State Basketball Championships
Division II Games Moved To Tennessee Tech Thursday, February 4, 2021
With district basketball tournaments beginning in the next few weeks, arrangements are being finalized for the 2021 TSSAA BlueCross State Basketball Championships. The tournaments will have a new look this season as a result of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to restrictions and public health concerns in Davidson County, the Division II basketball championships will be held at Hooper Eblen Center on the campus of Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville. The tournament will be played over a three-day stretch, March 4-6. The four games played each day will be scheduled as two, two-game sessions with each ticket good only for one session.
