200 more to get COVID vaccine In a race against coronavirus, Taylor County’s Department of Health (DOH-Taylor) is holding a mass COVID-19 vaccination event today (Friday) at the local health department. Some 200 doses of the Moderna vaccine will be given by appointment only at 1215 North Peacock Ave in Perry. The appointments for today’s vaccination clinic were made based on a waiting list of more than 3,000 names. “We are still taking names for the list from those age 65 or older or healthcare workers,” DOH-Taylor Operations Manager Martine Young said. To be placed on the waiting list, residents may call the DOH-Taylor office (850-584-5087, option 2) or fill out the online form at http://taylor.floridahealth.gov/.

Health Dept. holds mass vaccinations Jan. 13 Taylor County’s Department of Health (DOH-Taylor) is holding a mass COVID-19 vaccination event today (Wednesday, Jan. 13) at Forest Capital Hall for local healthcare workers and senior citizens (ages 65 and up). “We are simply moving our location from the health department to Forest Capital Hall so that we can accommodate more people in one day. By the end of the day, we will have vaccinated 420 people. This will bring our total (number of vaccinations) in the community to 1,000,” said DOH-Taylor Public Information Officer Martine Young. Appointments are required, and the schedule is currently filled.
