MUNCIE, Ind.  As COVID-19 numbers continue to improve throughout Indiana, vaccination appointments have increased locally, with most clinics reporting positive experiences. On Jan. 22, IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital administered its 10,000th COVID-19 vaccine. Meridian Health Services and Open Door Health Services, which started their clinics the week of Jan. 18, were both nearing 1,000 doses by their second week, and the Delaware County Health Department had distributed more than 800 this past week.

ISDH confirms fourth coronavirus death in Indiana By Rick Allen Mar 21, 2020 8:38 PM INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana State Department of Health Saturday confirmed the fourth Indiana death from COVID-19. The patient is a Delaware County adult over age 60 who had been hospitalized. No additional information about the patient will be released due to privacy laws. The death was first announced by the Delaware County Health Department. As of today, 126 Hoosiers have contracted COVID-19. All but one are adults. COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by a novel, or new, coronavirus that has not been previously identified. The virus causing COVID-19 is not the same as the coronaviruses that commonly circulate among humans and cause mild illness, like the common cold.
