Binghamton Woman Arrested Following Crash in Delaware County
A Broome County woman faces charges after a vehicle she was driving struck a mailbox and a flowerbox in the town of Masonville.
Authorities say 31-year-old Angel Feringa of Binghamton was arrested after the crash on Wednesday morning. It happened on Route 206 near the intersection with County Highway 20.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff s Office, the vehicle went off the roadway and eventually came to rest on the lawn of a home.
Investigators determined Feringa s driving privileges had been suspended in 2014 for a drug related offense.
Feringa was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed operator. She also was issued summonses for unsafe lane change and driving with an unsafe tire.
The two Manchester residents who were arrested for stealing the American Legion’s smoker were also arrested for stealing from a construction site last month.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says 48-year old Laurie Selby and 31-year old Dallas Selby stole items from a construction site just east of Manchester at 1975 210
th Street. The theft was reported December 1
st – the same week the Legion’s smoker was reported missing.
The Sheriff’s Office says law enforcement was able to track two different locations of the stolen property and was able to show that a trim break and mitter saw was in Laurie Selby’s possession.
Sheriff DuMond Appeals To Community
On January 12, Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. DuMond, wrote a letter to the community at large with the theme, Let’s Work Together For A Better 2021 . He posted it on the Delaware County Sheriff s Office facebook page. See his letter below.
From a very young age I had a strong desire to help people assist those in need. This desire was especially strong for those who were victims, not of just crime, but of other unfortunate circumstances. Entering my 36th year in law enforcement, nothing has changed for me. From being an 18-year military police officer, to the privilege of being your Delaware County Sheriff, I have dedicated my life to upholding equal justice under the law, helping people and protecting victims.
