The Pennsylvania House is moving to end Gov. Tom Wolf s COVID emergency disaster declaration. The governor initiated the disaster declaration in March of last year and has renewed it five times since then. House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff says it s clear to the Caucus that this emergency is over, that COVID mitigation orders have ended and the mask mandate will be lifted later this month. Wolf says the disaster declaration was critical to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and allowed for waivers and extensions to provide for Pennsylvanians and businesses. The resolution now heads to the state Senate.

The two eastbound lanes, into New Jersey will be reduced to only one lane, as work crews pour concrete onto the deck of the adjoining bridge span. The project is almost finished, with a completion goal of later this summer.

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission on Tuesday issued a “severe travel warning” for Friday morning on the Scudder-Falls Toll Bridge which connects Bucks and Mercer County, New Jersey.
If weather permits, the two New Jersey-bound travel lanes will be narrowed to a single lane for I-295 commuters during peak commuting hours, the commission said in a press release. The closures are expected to last from 5 a.m. to noon.
