A community member picking up trash along Coverdale Road south of Mill Park Drive called 911 around 10 a.m. because they discovered a pipe contraption they suspected was a bomb, according to police. The Delaware State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit and Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to assist with the investigation. A news release shows the device could not be positively identified as a bomb, but was successfully destroyed.
