Road Patrol Deputy Jordan Wade was promoted to Road Patrol Sergeant. Checking back it appears she is the first female road patrol command officer, Skrent noted.
The promotional process consists of an exam and oral board interview. All the candidates we had apply were very qualified and we are lucky to have them, he said in a press release.
Wade started working in the department in 2013 in the jail as a corrections deputy. She graduated from the Delta College Police Academy that year.
In the Fall, she started working in the road patrol division.

BAY CITY, MI - Bay County may be mostly white given its demographics, but the county is also home to a long standing civil rights group thanks to the area’s background in the lumber and shipbuilding industry.
According to the United States Census Bureau, those of Black or African American heritage make up only 1.8% of Bay County’s population. Meanwhile, Bay County is 94.6% white. But Bay City National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) branch President Darold Newton explained that the organization has had an over 100-year-old presence in the area.
