New Delhi, May 25 : The Delhi BJP on Monday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the national capital, saying that in the absence of price capping by the AAP government, patients are robbed in the name of treatment.
The BJP also put five demands in front of the city government.
Appeals to CM to convene an all-party meeting to discuss action plan
Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Saturday expressed “serious concern” over the high mortality rate in the Capital and demanded that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal immediately convene an all-party meeting including, experts and scientists to discuss the action plan to deal with the impending third wave of COVID-19.
Mr. Bidhuri said that while the number of cases in Delhi had been showing a declining trend, the high mortality rate was a matter of serious concern and needed to be investigated.
“The death rate in Delhi was 1.62% while the national average was 1.27%. Delhi’s death rate is the highest in the country and it also an indication of the poor healthcare infrastructure in the Capital, especially in government hospitals and facilities,” Mr. Bidhuri alleged.
‘Centre provided two months’ free ration to 80 crore people’
The middle-class, poor, labourers and migrant workers of Delhi have got “nothing” from the government in the last six years except false promises and assurances, the BJP alleged on Monday.
Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta said while the Centre, during the pandemic, had provided two months’ free ration for 80 crore poor across the country, the Delhi government had left over 72 lakh ration cardholders in the Capital on their own.
“Kejriwal [Delhi CM] announced on May 4 that 72 lakh ration card holders in city will be given free ration for May and June but the fact is it is Central government’s policy under which it is being done. But the Delhi government has till date not acted on this which is why labourers, who have lost their jobs, are not getting even a single meal,” he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday accused the Delhi government of seeking to take credit for the Centre-sponsored free rations scheme intended to benefit 72 lakh ration cardholders in the Capital.
Entailing an expenditure of ₹250 crores, Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri demanded that the Lieutenant Governor intervene to ensure that beneficiaries received free rations under the scheme, which were yet to be distributed by the Delhi government.
It was “shameful”, they stated, that the Delhi government’s Food and Civil Supplies Department was stating that the free rations were being provided by the Delhi government.
