Total in Brunei selected three children registered with the Community Development Department (JAPEM) to receive sponsorship for their early childhood education at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School.
It is part of Total’s corporate social responsibility programme themed ‘Youth Inclusion’ where the company is committed to contributing to provide access to education; support culture and sport; and assist in job creation by supporting the I-Usahawan programme.
Total Corporate Services Manager Harina binti Ramlee said, “With Youth Inclusion, our objective is to empower them to take control of their future and to play a role in the development of their communities.”

As part of the Employees Trust Fund’s (TAP) corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities during Ramadhan, the organisation reached out to 10 underprivileged families in Brunei-Muara District yesterday.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin as the Chairman of the TAP Board led the delegation.
The families received groceries and cash. The donation came from personal contributions from TAP board members and TAP staff to help the families in preparation for Aidilfitri. TAP management, officers and staff were also present.
The initiative was aimed at cultivating a culture of giving back to the local community and helping to lessen the burden of the less fortunate in ensuring the upcoming festive month is to be enjoyed by all.

Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd held a presentation of donations to 20 underprivileged families and orphans from Kampong Serasa, Kapok, Muara and Meragang at Al-Fath Hall, Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) Headquarters as part of the company’s annual corporate social responsibility initiative to lighten the burden of families and orphans for the upcoming Hari Raya celebration.
Legislative Council member and Acting Penghulu of Mukim Serasa Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman @ Othman was the guest of honour.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii was also present.
Guest of honour and Chief Executive Officer of Hengyi Chen Lian Cai presented the donations.

Baiduri Bank yesterday cemented its support to the Development of Native Mobile Application for Volunteers (
Mengalinga) with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and Baiduri Bank.
The volunteer app, with a targetted launch in August this year, will comprise different features. Its primary function is to provide a platform to enable event organisers and non-government organisations to promote volunteering opportunities and allow aspiring volunteers to join these activities through the app.
