Cryptocurrency under the spotlight at the Miami-Dade Commission meeting today. District 8 Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins wants the commission to approve the creation of a 13-member task force to study the feasibility of allowing residents to pay taxes in bitcoin. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez also agrees-he wants the city to hold bitcoin in its treasury and allow tax payments in cryptocurrency as well. Big retailers like AT&T and Home Depot now allow it since there are no processing fees or exchange rates involved.
