Mira Furlan, the actress behind Danielle Rousseau on Lost and Delenn on Babylon 5, died Wednesday in Los Angeles due to complications with West Nile virus. She was 65.
The Twitter account for Furlan announced the news on Thursday, and her manager, Chris Roe, confirmed the cause of death in a statement to EW.
“It is with great sadness that I confirm the passing of Mira Furlan,” Roe said. “She was a woman full of kindness, strength, and compassion. Mira passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 20, following complications from West Nile virus. She died peacefully at her home in Los Angeles, surrounded by her family. We will all continue to celebrate her life and legacy, and know she’ll always be here with us.”

Neatly three dozen missing kids were rescued by authorities in Southern California during a human trafficking investigation.
Of the 33 children rescued, eight were being sexually exploited when authorities swooped in to save them, according to the FBI. One arrest was made and multiple investigations were launched as part of the probe.
In 2020, the FBI conducted 664 human trafficking investigations across the country, leading to the arrest of 473 traffickers.

.- Mira Furlan, an actress best known for her roles on the fantastical TV series Babylon 5 and Lost, died at her home in Los Angeles on Wednesday. She was 65.
The cause was complications of the West Nile virus, according to Chris Roe, her manager.
From 1993 to 1998, Furlan starred in Babylon 5, a space opera that followed the relationships, politics, interspecies tensions and galactic conflicts aboard a United Nations-type space station in the mid-23rd century. She played Ambassador Delenn, representing the Minbari alien race on the space station.
