After an interview, Carson was arrested and charged with the murder of 30-year-old Deandre Antone Carter. Suspect charged with murder in deadly shooting at Center Point Parkway convenience store

A suspect is behind bars in a deadly weekend shooting at an eastern Jefferson County store.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the slain man as DeAndre Antone Carter. He was 30 and lived in Birmingham.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 10 p.m. Saturday to A & A Convenience Store on Center Point Parkway on a report of a person shot. They arrived to find the 30-year-old victim suffering from a single gunshot wound, said Sgt. Joni Money.
The man was still breathing, and deputies took measures to save his life until he could be transported to UAB Hospital, Money said. However, Carter was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11:14 p.m.
