MINISTRY OF TOURISM HOSTS VACCINATION CAMPAIGN IN PREPARATION FOR OPENING OF CRUISE SHIP SEASON
With the reopening of the cruise tourism sector on the horizon, the Government of Dominica, through the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives is encouraging all the relevant stakeholders to get vaccinated.
As part of the campaign, the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment hosted a vaccination drive for all tourism stakeholders on Tuesday, May 18 2021.
Minister for Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives, Hon. Denise Charles stated that over fifty-one percent of Dominica’s tourism stakeholders have already been vaccinated.

Plans are underway as the Government of Dominica through the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives prepares to safely welcome cruise ships back to Dominica shores.
Cruise tourism, like many other facets of the tourism sector, was severely impacted, by the COVID-19 pandemic as it brought the sector to a halt.
However, as Dominica continues to roll out a comprehensive vaccination programme, Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit has announced the return of cruise ships to the island.
Two ships are expected to come in June, while four are scheduled for July.
