Des Moines Register An attorney for the family of a boy who died of injuries sustained on an Adventureland Park ride last month is criticizing park officials for what he says is their refusal to cooperate with an investigation of the accident. The park, through its attorney, countered that the family s attorney has refused to allow park officials to interview them. Attorney Ryan Best, representing the family of Michael Jamarillo, the 11-year-old boy who died of injuries he suffered when he was trapped beneath an overturned raft on the park s Raging River Ride, said in a written statement that the Jaramillo family has made multiple requests to allow their representatives access to the Raging River. Despite representations to the media that Adventureland is working cooperatively with the Jaramillo family, to date, Adventureland has refused to provide the Jaramillos access to the boats or the ride.
