Cost consultant Kam has brought in Faithful & Gould director Mark Shea to run its new Manchester office.
Shea rejoined F&G three years ago after a 15 month stint at Turner & Townsend, having spent two and a half years as F&G’s head of hospitality in the Middle East where he was based in the firm’s UAE office.

Kam, which specialises in the industrial sector, was set up in 2013 by former Davis Langdon directors Mike Wilcock and Kevin Sims and now has annual revenue of £8m and offices in Milton Keynes, Leicester and Frankfurt, with its German outpost opening in 2019.
Tharsus adds former CEO of Dyson to its board

Robotics company Tharsus has appointed former Dyson CEO to its board as a non-executive director this week.
Martin McCourt, whose career spans four decades, is set to help the company match the growing appetite for robots and automation.
“Having dedicated over 40 years to manufacturing design and marketing for leading British brands, I am excited to join Tharsus’ leadership team to support the company on its growth journey,” McCourt said.
Once CEO of Dyson for 15 years, McCourt was responsible for building the company from a single product, single market producer.

Paul Morrell and Richard Steer question independence of initiative
The UK’s former chief construction advisor has called the decision of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors to ask its own bosses to chair a review into its future purpose a “disaster”, adding the organisation’s leadership should leave their posts.
Paul Morrell said the appointment of RICS president Kathleen Fontana and chief executive Sean Tompkins to chair its ‘Defining Our Future’ review, which was prompted by a member backlash against a governance scandal, was a “pathetic” attempt to “keep a lid on things”.

US firm follows in footsteps of rival Arcadis as covid pandemic prompts firms to review estates
Aecom has become the second major consultant in as many days to confirm it is reviewing how much office space it needs at its London headquarters in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic.
Yesterday Building revealed Arcadis was swapping its King’s Cross home of the past 15 years for a new office in the City because of the impact the virus has had on working habits with repeated lockdowns keeping millions of office workers at home.

Former Davis Langdon staffer takes over as chief executive
Dublin-based construction and property consultant Linesight has rejigged its management bringing in a new chief executive and chief operating officer.
The firm, whose core clients include tech giants and life science and pharma firms, has promoted Paul Boylan to the top job, having joined the business back in 2002 from Davis Langdon.

He takes over from company veteran Gerard Campbell, who has been with the firm since the early 1980s when it was known as Bruce Shaw. Campbell is stepping down after five years in the role but will stay on its executive board throughout this year.
