Maddie’s Pet Project of Nevada has announced Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days happening Friday, June 11, and Saturday, June 12, 2021. Thanks to funding provided by the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, all adoption fees are being waived for dogs and cats at participating animal welfare organizations across Nevada during this event.
The Boys and Girls of North Lake Tahoe is hosting their Wine on the Water auction once again this year for patrons looking to support the youth of the basin.

“Typically, Wine on the Water is the largest summer fundraising event,” said BGCNLT Marketing and Special Events Coordinator Angela Gradiska in regards to the club’s fundraising.
Gradiska explained that the event is usually attended by over 100 people every year, and due to attendee safety, they made the decision to stay online again. However, Gradiska said that they have secured the Hyatt for the 2022 Wine on the Water event on June 5.

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. Local leaders within Lake Tahoe’s North Shore have launched the Incline Village Crystal Bay Association to help build community and communication among residents, businesses and nonprofits.
The association has also been awarded a grant from the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation worth $200,000. That grant will assist with set up and operational costs, including hiring staff to organize community collaboratives, events and programs to support and engage the businesses and nonprofits in Incline Village/Crystal Bay.
“The Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation is proud to support the creation of the IVCBA and to be a Founding Member of the group,” said Jerleen Bryant, executive director of the foundation. “We are excited for the IVCBA to increase communication among Incline Village residents, businesses, and nonprofits and to shine a light on the great work that is being done in our community.”

Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days is traditionally held twice a year; however, due to COVID-19, the Spring 2020 event was canceled last year. The September 2020 adoption event resulted in 1,851 animals (1,068 cats and 783 dogs) being adopted from 44 participating Nevada animal welfare organizations, including large and small animal shelters and private rescues. More than 7,600 animals have found their forever homes during the Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days event in the past three years.
